Create a Happy Life That's Sustainable
@reesevphoto on the gram
“Mental Gymnastics” was something my dad has said since I was a child, usually in the form of “no need to do mental gymnastics for this one…” or “once one does the mental gymnastics, they find the solution…” One need not attempt a back-flip or floor routine in their head, however I always took the phrase to mean a kind of workout or training for the brain to achieve desired results.

The only thing is, the “result” was usually for someone else – a homework assignment, the eventual project on the job, and of course dating. As I got older, I started to wonder, “what if we trained our minds for ourselves?”

Thus was the brain child (pun intended) for the site you’re reading now. After growing up in the second largest city in the US, moving around a lot as a young adult, accomplishments and struggles as a collegiate athlete, and eventually a divorce (aka “life”). I’ve personally found it very helpful when striving for a life filled with happiness to “train” one’s mind to find the positives in every situation.

This strategy is supported by various spiritual and philosophical teachings throughout the ages, which I intend to share over time. These strategies and subsequent mental training (“mental gymnastics”) has allowed me to survive my own “dark nights of the soul” and I would be remiss to not share these tactics with others…because they work. This has been proven by not only spiritual people throughout time, but laymen like you and me.

And with that, I hope you enjoy 🙂

Blessings on blessings,

Sean and the Mental Gymnastics Team

  1. ” I’ve personally found it very helpful when striving for a life filled with happiness to “train” one’s mind to find the positives in every situation.” – Yes. Absolutely. Finding the positives will not happen overnight. It takes training and constant reminding to one’s self . I look forward to the mental workouts you offer to those of us interested in this kind of training.

  2. May I just say what a relief to uncover an individual who really knows what they are talking about on the internet. You definitely know how to bring a problem to light and make it important. More and more people should read this and understand this side of the story. I was surprised that you’re not more popular because you surely possess the gift.

    have to manually code with HTML. I’m starting a
    blog soon but have no coding expertise so I wanted to get advice from
    someone with experience. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
